   The program is set up through the application process. You just do the same thing you did when you applied and there is a choice to change your information. It’s very simple.

Where do I send my money and how will you be using these funds once the checks start flying in. I know the program needs funds and I want to help patients who cannot afford their cards even at the discounted price of $75.00. I would be more than happy for my funds to go to veterans and elderly patients who are on a fixed income.

3. medical marijuna is legal -make is excessibal and affordabale for those who need it now

   I am a 50 year old mother of 5 and Grand mother of 3 and have been suffering with sever spinal pain,migrains anxiety and insomnia due to a childhood disease called equine encephilitis, that I was lucky enough to survive, when so many others have died from it. For 30 years now I have been to, too many doctors to count and just as many drugs and continue to take those drugs just to function in my daily life.I am looking to relieve my condition with a natural medication that will not cause side effects that ultimately will kill me in the end like the pills that I am taking right now.
   Medical Marijuana will help me and so many people with so many different illnesses,it is rediculous not to allow it to be legally grown and distributed to the people who have gone to great lengths and expence to get that medical card saying they can use it to treat their medical conditions and; for what, so they can be told "guess what, you just went through all that for nothing,because, you can not legally accuire your meds because the federal goverment and the state is going to make it impossible for you to get treatment like any other medical drug and quit making it impossible for people who benefit from using it.
   You can do it just like you do with morphine or any other drug. Some one grows it,and drug stores sell it to patients and at a REASONAL cost and patients can use there medication as directed, everyone will be happy.
   Right now,many people have found that marijuana helps there conditons and are forced to buy what ever is on the street, not knowing if what they are getting is any good or even poisioned by illegal growers in foriegn contries ,and by doing so, making themselves into criminals.
   If the goverment would just listen to us and do what the people want instead of doing what big businesses and who ever else that has something to lose buy making this legal , there will be great benefits for the whole state,even the whole USA. legalizing medical marijuana could provide an Income to pay state and US debts, better educations for our kids, badly needed jods for americans and more than I can list.
   In addition this will Take the power away from drug lords and corner drug peddlers and make it the medicine that it is!
   Make it legal for the growers to grow now! Make it legal for patients to use it.
   Make it legal for drug stores to sell it.
   Make our suffering go away with a natural drug instead of all of these narcotics that over time will rot your internal organs.
   If the goverment was really the voice for the people we would not be having this problem. I would even venture to say that if there were a country wide vote for the "total legalization" of medical marijunna in the USA, it would be overwhelmingly YES!
   In one fell swoop we could cut off the drug lords in foriegn contries and stop most illegal smuggling of marijunna and the war on drugs can be a war on real drugs,herion,cocaine,meth,ect.

   Thank you for writing. We understand your situation and can sympathize. However until there is a ruling from athe courts, ADHS has suspended the dispensary portion of the AMMA.

4. ang a caregiver to someone who has a card already

   when my husband initialy had gotten his medical marijuanna interview with the Dr. we didnt realalize that I had to be designated as a caregiver at that time and now how am I supposed to be added now you people need to have a seperate form for caregivers to be added to those who already have their cards please.

   There is no way to upload corrected physician attestation form in a Prop 203 resubmission attempt. The patient is directed to change only corrected information. There is no prompt to allow for new upload of information. Only given ten days to resubmit: please help!

7. Close these so called Marijuana Clubs down immediately!!!

   First of all, what are these so called Marijuana Clubs all about. I'll tell you, its a scam to sell marijuana for $ 25.00 per gram under the disguise that members are donating the pot to the club...............and if you pay $ 25.00 to join and $ 75.00 to get in the back room you'll get 3grams of pot........That is nothing more than a drug dealing operation (at this time). And obviously, the pot these clubs are selling (donating, yeah right) must have been "acquired" illegally!!!! That's right POLICE, take notice!!!! It takes 4 months (120 days) to grow marijuana from seed????? Hello DHS!!!!The first license issued was somewhere around April 20, 2011...............Do the math! Under the best circumstances the first crop would not be ready until August 20, 2011 or so. Time to step up and shut these drug dealers down until they can prove where the pot really came from...A very concerned citizen.

   The law passed by voters gives the Department limited oversight of caregivers and patients. The Attorney General’s office is looking into the legality of the clubs.
   To Miguel: potential dispensaries must meet local zoning requirements before they could apply to ADHS. Local government around the state continues to consider the dispensary locations, but the state system is suspended until there is a decision in the courts.

   Thank you for expressing your opinion. Until there is a decision about the federal law, ADHS will continue to provide cards, but not license dispensaries.

   give us all guide lines and places to get what our card intitle us to as people in pain! you had no problems taking our money for cards.. by the time you legal begals get it together my card will need to be renewed again...it is not about the money for people suffering..it about getting us out of pain! i am sick of waitting and i am not alone!

   We are working as quickly as possible to move forward with the dispensary portion of the law now that the lawsuits are pretty much settled.

10. We need more practical legal information.

    Why isn't there any further or more detailed information on the AG's move against the legally passed proposition? Why IS he doing this, do we pay him to exercise and spend our time and money fighting for and pursuing his own ideals? We need to know what our state government is up too, after all,... they do work for us. This info could help a patient decide whether or not to even disclose their condition to the state because we could all be gathered up as co-conspirators if the AG succeeds in convincing our voters that AZ will suffer "Federal retaliation" , such as highway/infrastructure funds, water treatment plant credits, basic census based monies, dept of education, you name it. California is a prime example of what can happen when a state relies too heavily on those funds. Will the Fed take a less conservative position "nowadays" due to the need for revenue AND prison beds wasted on small time marijuana dealers and users who faced a 3rd or 4th charge.for simple possession. There are those in our state government who would kick and beg for the chance to expand Arizona's number of prisons and prison bed capacity, because each bed brings $4700 a month into the bank accounts of out of state owned privatized prison owner/operators
    On one side we have the Az State Hotel industry's crying "we don't have enough (right).money to assure humane treatment, and need more beds, on the other we have totally empty pods which are closed due to the privately owned company's refusal to staff up and meet the staffing requirements and open these pods instead of building new facilities because the new law will reduce the number of beds wasted on pot users and small time hoodlums who will most likely go out of business, especially if the AG gets their way and all the growers and dispensaries are owned by out of state conglomerates, instead of doing what part of prop 208's intentions of reducing the number of small but illegal pot dealers, and therefore reduce the likely-hood that our kids will be able to score and experiment with pot in our own neighborhood or our own street.
    I dunno, but I do know we have a say as to what the AG does on our time and as to whether its counterproductive to his duties as AG for him to preoccupy himself with the "task" of overthrowing and repealing what the voters clearly said last year, instead of investigating the liability we're facing for the steadily increasing body count of Mexican nationals in this state. Which do you think is more important?

11. The AZDHS shuld be monitoring Medical Marijuana Doctors Clinics.

    There are Marijuana Doctor Clinics in Arizona that advertise patients do not need recent medical records to qualify for the program, as well as many doctors that will certify anyone with a $150 payment. Many patients that now have a MMJ card or a recent recomendation from a doctor may not be entitled to them. This is blatent disregard of the of the Arizona State Law both by the patient and the recommending doctor. How does the AZDHS plan to police both the doctors and clinics that break the law?

    ADHS does not have any authority over doctors. If they are doing what you say, you should report them to the medical board that licenses them. ADHS works closely with the boards to try to keep the medical marijuana program, medical. Thanks for your help in this process.

    I have sent the email but have not gotten any response from the department. I also used your online chat feature today so i could try to confirm that my request is being processed, or at least find out how long that takes, but to no avail. I waited for 30 minutes to finally get a response, but that response was completely irrelevant to my question. i asked the question again and have yet to see a response. you guys are worse than the DMV!! please get your act together

    The online function is now available on the application page of the medical marijuana website. Previous to this we had been making the changes individually – so it took quite a bit of time.
    Thank you for your patience,

    I’m not sure how long it takes to make the change and issue a new card. I will find out and respond shortly. As far as the length of time it took for someone to respond on the chat function, I will look into that as well.
    We are trying to be helpful in this situation because we understand Qualifying Patients may have planned on having dispensaries around this fall.

    I posted my idea on your blog but thought I'd also email it directly.

    In reading your MMJ blog I've noticed many repetitive Q&As. I suggest consolidating these onto a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page prefacing your Blog.

    After readers review the FAQs page they can THEN post blog questions if the FAQ page hasn't answered their questions. You can have a 'canned' response linking them back to the FAQs page if they ask an already answered question.

    I realize your position is probably pretty hectic, especially over this program. Having a FAQs page may save you some time to handle more pressing matters. However, as an MMJ patient I do consider this matter pretty pressing. Thank you.

    The blog covers many more topics than medical marijuana so it’s not the correct place for the medical marijuana frequently asked questions page. You are correc that it would be great if people checked the FAQ before posting questions on the Director’s blog.

16. Please make the forms so that a current patient can change his/her form as soon as possible.

    Being a brand new program with the rules very hard to understand at first, many people I know of made mistakes in the way they initially filed for their patient or caregiver card. Please make the change forms available as soon as possible so that these cards are actually usable. I, for one, am in pain every day and would benefit greatly from medical marijuana, but find it impossible to get it or grow it myself without making a change to my card. Please help to alleviate my and others pain by making a change form available to the public.

    At the point you were requesting it, each change had to be made individually and took quite a bit of staff time. The Change Application Search is now available under the Patient Application. We appreciate your patience and hope that the new function will make the process easier for all.

17. There needs to be a way to correct an application error.

    When I reviewed the final PDF copy of my application after I submitted and paid, I discovered that the "caregiver" box had been checked. I don't think I checked that box, but if I did, it was an error. I have tried to find a wasy to report the error, but have only found a phone number that will take a message, and they haven't called back. There is no email address to report an error. Thank you.

    One of the reasons we created the form on line was so that folks had the ability to make sure their names are spelled correctly, the address is correct and everything is the way they want it. In the User Agreement, applicants are instructed to check all information before saving each page. You may want to use the live chat option on the medical marijuana website. The customer service representatives are familiar with the system and may be able to help you.

    The ADHS needs to put together a Patient's Guide to what they can and can't do under the AMMA and share it with the public, law enforcement and the media. In light of multiple arrests in Gilbert the police seem to be totally uninformed that MMJ is legal in Arizona.

19. MMJ community still getting the runaround

    People need to stop trying to control everything when the citizens make their voices heard in a political way then that is how the laws should be treated as a law not just if they agree with it because there are plenty of laws I dont agree with and the government wants everyone to follow laws then they need to actually follow them.

    At this point, ADHS is carrying out the will of the people to the best of its ability. There are lawsuits pending in three courts at thsi time. ADHS will move forward based on the outcome of those cases.

20. Brochure on Patient's Legal Rights

    In light of the police raid this week on a Gilbert resident who was handcuffed and treated like a criminal when he was a registered ADHS MMJ patient, how is the Dept. of Health going to notify the police department on how to first check the registry to see if a patient before they come to your home with a warrant and a full SWAT team?

    Mr. Humble you need to get together with our Attorney General and clarify for the patients and caregivers are to be treated respectufully and lay out their rights to possess, manufactur, deliver, cultivate if requested on ther application) and inform the police across the state that we have the
    Arizona Medical Mariuana Act and patients/caregivers are up and running with over 5,500 registered in the state. Also inform law enforcement about how to access the registry database which patients have paid a pretty penny to help finance this and why are the police uninformed about this?

    It's your job to make sure the program works for the patients and the caregiver which are protected by AMMA. Remember the dispensaries are in moratorium for the time being and patients are the ones that need their medicine and the Grow Your Own Model will work but the police have to stop arresting patients!

    The system was set up in the law passed by the voters; section 36-2807 specifically says law enforcement can only check the numbers on a card. ADHS established a secure, password-protected, web-based verification system for use on a 24-hour basis by law enforcement personnel. ADHS notified law enforcement agencies on April 06, 2011, explaining how to register for the online validation system. The AMMA did not give law enforcement the ability to search for names. Because of what the voters passed, there is no way to change the access except through legislation that furthers the intent of the voter initative.
