3. Covid-19 Statistics

   I follow the stats on a daily basis and I don't see the number of recovered cases being reflected correctly. According to worldometer which you feed the data to daily, Arizona has 205,766+ cases, of which 5,221 resulted in death, 31,548 have recovered and 168,997 are active. If this is correct, than we have not had anyone recover since early June. This is very misleading and should be corrected.

5. Double check the math. There are too many major discrepancies. And be clearer on how to interpret these results. The numbers don't add up.

   I have added up all the "daily new cases reported" and the total came out to be over 2,500 more than the number reported in the "summary" page". There are also considerable discrepancies in their "percentages" reported. For example: with a "total number of PCR tests performed" in Maricopa County Arizona on Sept 7th of 4,369, and a "percentage positive" PCR tests reported as 12.2%, it would result in a "total number of new cases" of 533. But the summary page reports only 198 new cases that day. If, indeed there were only 198 cases positive out of 4369 test results, then the percentage positive would actually only be 4.5%. That is a BIG difference! I don't even look at the Serology results, since that may include people who have recovered weeks or months ago. I have been watching these statistics very closely, while in quarantine, as I am 64 with asthma that sometimes requires a visit to Urgent Care. But when I do the math, nothing seems to add up. So I don't trust the statistics reported. If I am wrong, please set me straight. But this seems like pretty simple math to me. Why is there always such a big discrepancy?

8. Please add data on the median age of those who died with CoVid 19, and those who died with one or more comorbidities

   This data is highly relevant. The data on the Dashboard is great. For example you show the number of cases with other risk factors, but risk factors is not shown with respect to deaths. As for median age data with respect to deaths, states that have occasionally published the data have shown that the median age of CoVid 19 associated deaths is actually two years higher than average life expectancy in the state. That data really puts things in perspective in my opinion. Thank you!

9. How are antigen tests being reported? Are they lumped with PCR tests or just ignored?

   With Universities doing antigen tests, it is unclear if these are being reported on the COVID-19 dashboard. Please clarify if these are lumped in with PCR or just ignored. They really need to be reported.

    This infographic contains data only through April 26, 2020 and includes the sentence "Data show Arizona is ready for a gradual and phased-in return."
    This is pathetically out of date and should be removed, if not massively updated.

15. Air Ions Eliminate COVID Viruses

    There is an urgent need for devices to eliminate viruses from the air in order to prevent outbreaks and spread of infectious diseases. Each year, infectious diseases cause millions of deaths around the world and many of the most common infectious pathogens are spread by droplets or aerosols caused by coughing, sneezing, speaking, singing etc. Spreading by air is an important transmission route for many pathogens including viruses. Virus particles are only nanometers in size, so they can remain suspended in the air long enough to be dispersed.
    
    An air ioniser is a device that uses high voltage to ionize (electrically charge) air molecules. Negative ions (anions) are particles with one or more extra electrons. Positive ions, (cations) are particles with less electrons. Positive and negative ions both have been found to inactivate viruses
    Particles of biological origin, such as viruses, bacteria, fungi, and pollen as well as their fragments that are present in air are referred to as bioaerosols. Bioaerosols can cause serious health hazards when they contaminate a human environment. The COVID19 virus, the avian flu and swine flu are natural examples illustrating the profound impacts of bioaerosols on public health.
    Ionic air purifiers are used to break down viruses, bacteria, mold, odors and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to sanitize air and surfaces. Negative air ionizers generate negative ions which electrically charge air molecules which pass electrons to airborne water molecules and other particles including viruses The device enables rapid removal of viruses and bacteria from air and prevents airborne transmission of diseases .
    The moisture in the air tends to keep an extra electron on billions of oxygen molecules. Since negative particles attract positive particles these negatively charged oxygen molecules turn into the equivalent of miniature vacuum cleaners by attracting viruses, dust, smoke, pollen, mold spores, and other unwanted particles which have positive charges. When the negatively charged oxygen molecules attract positive particles, they form heavier clumps, which drop to the ground, leaving the air we breathe fresher and cleaner.
    An ionizer was used for inactivation of virus and prevention of airborne transmitted influenza, a virus infection. The ionizer protected 100% of guinea pigs from infection. Moreover, the device effectively captured airborne transmitted calicivirus, rotavirus and influenza virus. Generation of negative ions has been shown to reduce transmission of Newcastle disease virus and several kind of bacteria in animal experiments.
    The spread of infectious diseases in hospitals can be very serious. In many situations there is a need for a pathogen and particle free environment, e.g. in operation wards, environments for immunosuppressed patients as well as for patients with serious allergies. This makes it desirable to have a method for eliminating virus and other pathogens from air. The frequency of nosocomial infections in British hospitals prompted the National Health Service (NHS) to research the effectiveness of anions for air purification, they foind that repeated airborne acinetobacter infections in a ward were eliminated by the installation of a negative air ioniser—the infection rate fell to zero, an unexpected result.
    Normal speaking causes airborne virus transmission. Here is where the technology of a negative air ionizer may offer significant protection. It places an charge on bioaerosols including relatively large particles (like dust), smaller particles like bacteria and mold spores, and even tiny virus particles measuring as little as 0.052-0.140 micrometers. The charged particles fall to the floor, or are attracted to surfaces of grounded electronic devices (like computer screens), which can be wiped away during normal housecleaning. The air becomes more breathable and refreshing – and less hazardous to health.
    The negative ions cluster around particles, increasing their mass until they become heavy enough to fall from the breathable air space. VOCs and odors are broken down on a molecular level to their most basic elements without the production of harmful byproducts. Mold, bacteria, and viruses are deactivated and rendered harmless with this air purification technology.
    Negative air ions are highly effective in removing particulate matter from air. Airborne particles become charged as they attract charged ions from the ioniser by electrostatic attraction. The particles in turn are then attracted to any nearby earthed (grounded) conductors, either deliberate plates within an air cleaner or simply the nearest walls and ceilings.
    The SARS epidemic fueled the desire for personal ionisers in East Asia, including Japan where many products have been specialized to contain negative ion generators, including refrigerators, air conditioners, air cleaners, and washing machines.

    I am not in agreement with wearing a mask in indoor gyms. Your not using correct information or educating the public on any factual data about all fabric masks that are worn during high impact high moisture, sweating in them during high impact exercise, running, any aerobic longer duration exercise. If inside or even outside it is more dangerous to the person to wear this, high potential for pulling on it, moving it, not being to breath in it, due to too much moisture accumulating, sweat from working out, breathing heavy. Its nonsense that your trying to protect anyone from covid to wear a mask in a gym running or high impact socialuy distancing, washing hands before touching your face always, then the mask should be an additional protection. Its been quite frustrating because I see people near each other, probably not washing their hands enough because of this mask message priority. Thats why when we open schools their is a spread of covid,most likely poor hygiene, touching masks, touching things then introducing covid into their mouth, forgetting the washing of hands, socially distancing is a prioroity, not the mask. I do agree a mask should be worn but its gotten to a point that people are wearing them all day, not near anyone, in a car, walking outside, biking outside, its really a wrong message, all are socially distant no one near them. These masks most likely are being touched, dirty, too moist, especially during high heat outside. You are just not educating people correctly about masks with high moisture environments. I'm a retired athletic RN, it's bee a common problem for your department to try to overly control and sterile all of the community way too much, being counterproductive. Why are we still having a rise in covid cases, think about it, your mask message is not fine tuned and made too much of a priority, focus on washing hands before touching your face, socially distant,then a mask must be worn if not socially distancing.

19. PCR test data is missing

    No PCR testing breakout shown today on main dashboard landing page "Summary". This is critical data! It is the only data that can be accurately used as the denominator for the percent positive rate that is THE key measure in monitoring spread. Please put it back on the dashboard, where it belongs. Let the data speak the truth!

20. Decreasing cumulative case count numbers?

    Can you explain why the number of cumulative cases for ZIP code 85281 has gone down by 276 in two days (from 2854 on 9/14 to 2578 on 9/16), seemingly "erasing" 10 days of new cases?
