Working with ADHS for a death certificate has been a nightmare! You need more options for the legal guardians of children who lose a parent. My ex-husband passed in July and our son is his ONLY child and sole beneficiary. But because I am an ex-wife, I cannot get a copy of his death certificate to apply for his benefits thru the VA or DFAS. His father was a medically retired veteran and I am still serving, but that means nothing to vital records. Serious issues with your process! I even have copies of his SS card, BC, and all our marriage, birth, and divorce documents but that’s not enough for me to get the death certificate for our sons benefits. WOW! Update your process for legal guardians of minors when the family of the deceased is not in the picture. I paid for his memorial as ex-wife #1 but can’t get a
