As a result, while you are reporting a current week of pcr testing positivity of 8% and 9% for last week, John's Hopkins is reporting 15.6%. Since states and employers are enacting quarantine rules and travel restrictions based on the data, often from Johns Hopkins, this should be addressed. PCR testing results report only currently active cases. Serology tests may report active or past infection and the data from PCR and Serology tests should not be aggregated if the tests are showing a past infection. Past infections are good for developing herd immunity but are not relevant for implementing travel restrictions based on current infections and transmission.
