"Recovered" cases presumes that the person returned to the level of health they enjoyed before first getting infected. That's not necessarily the case. Instead, you seem to be referring to "survived" cases, where a person simply didn't die right away. For instance, a person was hospitalized and eventually discharged. Don't forget the people who "recover" with permanent damage to their lungs, kidneys, or other organs, including the brain.

The recovered cases is the most important number of all the stats. It said that covid clears the body completely after a couple of weeks. So the total number of cases quoted is only meant to scare the public when most of those people are already well and in good health ready to share their cured plasma. And we would like to know how many people are donating their plasma. Give stats that give encouragement not fear.

I agree this would be a good number to show. I am using now for arizona (which is different than seen in the US country numbers) 1597. I figured this number by adding up the daily discarged numbers from the start.
