Make it easier to report a reoccurring offender of salmonella distributor.cases
I have been trying to report this store for years and a death will more tan likely occur or has already if someone doesn't do something about it. This sent to the Frys store today May 5th 2012:
For years I have shopped at the frys store at 43rd Ave. and McDowell in Phoenix Az. I have had salmonello at least 3 times from their eggs. The policy of taking good eggs from cartons with broken eggs and transferring them to other cartons changes the date of the eggs from the carton they are put in. Years ago they make no bones about this policy. Since it has become the Mercado the policy still stands and they also transfer their old eggs for use in the bakery. The last time I had salmonello poisoning was from a chocolate merangue pie and I was so sick but more angry that you care so little for your patrons lives. A child or elderly person can die from this kind of poisoning. Even an animal as I finally started to give my pets the eggs when they expire rather then throw them out not thinking that they would also be affected. My cat got boney and ate 3 times his normal food until I finally discovered he had a severe case of diarrhea. I am sorry to say that it took me way to long to figure out what was going on. I did give him an antibiotic and the last day of his treatment he felt like adventuring out and got ran over. This is not your problem, his outcome but if you didn't care about the almighty dollar he would not have gotten so sick and suffered for so long and his final outcome might not have been so tragic. That is what it is about, a life for a few more cents that you might gather. I did try to report that store but had the wrong department and so my complaint went no where. I think I will try again and maybe save an elderly person like me or a child from dying. My knowledge should save my life now that it is so confirmed in my mind what you are doing. But what about all the others that have probably ended up in the hospital with no idea where the source came from? Can you live with that or does it have to be proven through deaths?
You can file a complaint with Maricopa County Environmental Services. Their phone number is 602-506-6616 or you can file a complaint on-line at

From a food safety perspective, thorough cooking is an important step in making sure eggs are safe. Eggs should be cooked until they are firm and not runny, this will kill the harmful bacteria.

That's very true but bakeries make some items that don't require cooking such as meringue which is what made me very ill from their pie. I no longer purchase anything uncooked from them but that does not help others from getting it. A policy of not recycling eggs as they do would prevent a lot of illness. The thought of using old old eggs on purpose to cut costs makes me ill just to think about it. I do love my yolks soft unfortunately and have no problem doing this with another companies eggs. I am disgusted with them for caring so little.
