Answer complaints with more than a form letter.
I filed a complaint and received after a long delay a form letter that said my complaint didn't fall within Department rules. No one would tell me the rules. The facility wasn't even notified they had a complaint. How about explaining why my complaint wasn't considered and how I affect the operation of this defective medical office.
ADHS can only investigate complaints for facilities that we license and for violations of specific statutes and rules that fall within our jurisdiction. If a complaint does not fall within those qualifications, we do not contact the facility and respond with a letter to the person who contacted us. As a matter of efficiency, we use a prewritten letter that provides information for the person to follow up directly with our staff.
