Hire a few certified specialist in Senior Fitness and in Fitness Nutrition
Start then off teaching in places that seniors frequent or where they live (rest homes, care facilities) and see what a difference it will make to many seniors who think 'they cant'
1 voteThis is an interesting idea that we’ll pass along to our active living specialist. Many counties have programs like this. You may want to check with your county healt department too.

This card process is exceptional with a picture on it.
Somebody needs to get a hold of the Michigan Department of Information Technology and give them a seminar on how to put a picture on a card.

I think it is a raw deal to give the initial people in the medical marijuana program the right to grow their own and then two years later withdraw this right after we have spent many thousands of dollars buying lights and equipment, not to mention the electric costs., I am handicapped in a wheelchair and couldn't get to a dispensary if it was on the corner
1 voteThe law passed by voters prohibits the growing of marijuana if the patient lives within 25 miles of an operating dispensary. Because of the legal challenges, dispensaries are just now beginning to the operate. The law would need to be changed by another voter initiative or a super majority of the legislature.

THANK YOU---1 voteIn general, medical marijuana registry identification cards are printed the next business day following the application approval. The cards are then mailed the following business day. ADHS frequently receives returned mail. For all returned mail, a staff person calls or attempts to make contact with each cardholder to either rectify the address (if the applicant made an address error in the application). If the card is continually returned, ADHS can offer to re-send the card certified mail to ensure the cardholder signs for the receipt of the card.

flu
I have super immunity to influenza. 7 years did not had the flu even though I enter into a risk group as a distributor of newspapers in Almetyevsk. I walk around the city sell the newspaper for 14 years. A flu is afraid of people who play sports outdoors. I propose to make a vaccine based on my immune system I have a disease, I drink lots of water. and can I have immunity against West Nile virus Russia, Republic of Tatarstan, Almetyevsk city

1 votePeople can go for many years without getting influenza if they are lucky enough not to run into someone who has influenza. However, they are putting themselves at risk, and are putting other people at risk if they get sick. The best way to prevent the spread of influenza and to protect yourself is to get an influenza vaccine every year. You can find where influenza vaccines are given at www.flu.gov

it would be nice to know approximatly how long it takes for approval medical marjuana card. it would begreat if one knew how long to expect
It would be nice if a qualifying patient knew approximatly how long it takes for approval.
1 voteWe have five business days to process any one application (meaning that we have 5 days to either approve the application or find deficiencies with the application – essentially “stopping” our timeframes clock). It is really important for the applicant to enter their own email address into the application since that is where the approval or deficiency email is sent to. Often times, applicants go to these clinics and the clinic email address is entered into the application – thereby, they are not receiving the emails. Also, applicants can always check the status of their application by going to our website and click on the check status of application link (they would need their AZQP number, though).

Allow people to cultivate if the have a card to use, Dispensary are robbing people and some can not afford there prices.
Please appeal the 25 mile radius, the only thing that is helping is the pockets of the owners of the Dispensary. I have a close friend go to his appointment to get his medicine. Needless to say he could not afford it. and the smile on the dispensary owners on the news tell everyone there here to help. There right help there bank account. At this time al medicine is donated. They should of give this man, that has his card to use his medicine for free it did not cost the the dispensary nothing. (75%) of card holders are disabled…
1 voteVoters passed the so-called “25-mile rule” when they passed the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act. It would most likely take another initiative to change.

Donating to the Arizona Medical Marijuana Fund (includes address)
Make a donation to the Arizona Medical Marijuana Fund
I had the pleasure of hearing Dr. Sue Sisley speak at the recent Patients Out of Time conference held in Tucson this past year. Dr. Sisley went over her protocols and her clinical research would be proof (or not) that cannabis offers palliative relief for victims of PTSD. Her research subjects would be vets with state MMJ cards and all she needs is the funds to proceed with her study.
Prop 203 which passed in 2010 allows for legal use of medical marijuana and the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act allows for…
1 voteThank you for your proposed donation to the Arizona Medical Marijuana Fund. According to Arizona Revised Statutes (A.R.S.) § 36-2817(B), the Arizona Department of Health Services (Department) may accept and spend private donations to assist in carrying out the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act. Please be advised that at this time, the Department is not accepting private donations to the Fund. If in the future the Department decides to begin accepting private donations to the Fund, the Department will make a formal announcement on our website or through our Director’s blog.

Chronic pain opiod tolerant 20+ years patient, unaffordable access for patients living 300% below poverty level, I am denied access 4 $$$$$$
Patients need to be able to grow a victory garden just like food, I am denied access to a medicine that helps my chronic pain issue, worker,s comp injury, stuck on SSDI, medicade, not enough food stamps, or cash to fix roof and bring home more energy efficent repairs to termited damaged home, let allow me to pay $200. a yr for card and pay for disp prices. It needs to be added to Medicade, cause medicare will not. Do away with 25 mile dispensary zones.
1 voteThe 25-mile “dispensary zone” as you call it was approved by the voters. ADHS cannot change it.

Medicare coverage?
…Arizonas constituents have voted and recognize Medical Marijuana as a viable and preferred medication towards establishing a healthier and more manageable choice of pain management tools. I am a 50yr old male paraplegia residing in Yuma,AZ. I have filed and been accepted into the medical marijuana program as of Feb,3 2011. I have my card and I would like to ask for more information concerning the appropriate channels or the proper process to file the required documents to request A.H.C.C.C. and HealthChoice of Arizona and its subsidiaries to recognize Medical Marijuana as a legal and eligible choice of medication and
1 voteOur Department, Health Services, does not have any control over what other state offices decide to do. And in this case, it is federal money that provides the insurance, so the recommendations from the Departments you contacted (DES and AHCCCS) seem to be appropriate.
-
How does does one afford.
when is it going to be covered on AHCCCS? It should be in formulary? Eating herb is better than smoke
1 voteThe Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System is a different state agency. This question should be addressed by it. There was no provision in the Arizona Medical Marijuna Act passed by voters for coverage.

When will dispensaries open? We voted on this THREE YEARS AGO AND I AM ******

Marijuana Distribution Log
Although DHS has done a great job in reducing the amount of teen smokers, more and more teens are getting a wrong idea that Tobacco is bad for you but Marijuana is ok. Can the ad be adjusted? Also, people (teens included) are getting marijuana from those who have the marijuana card. Shouldn't there be some type of log a marijuana card holder submit to the government with the marijuana they purchase to ensure that it is not overly distributed? I imagine if we can do it with Sudafed, we should be able to do the same with marijuana.
1 voteThanks for your ideas. The law that governs the use of medical marijuana has some strict ties to it. DHS is working to ensure that we track and enforce those that are in there. However, there is not really anything we can do once the marijuana is in a cardholder’s hands. All cardholders promise not to divert to someone who is not a Cardholder, but the penalty is losing the card if we learn of the diversion.
On the other hand, we are working through our Behavioral Health Services arm to reduce substance use and abuse. Teens should not be getting the messafe from ADHS that non-medical use of marijuana is okay. -
license renewal form
the instructions for renewal cite using the renewal application, however, a search of forms did not easily identify one.
1 voteThere is a separate tab on the left-hand side of the Medical Marijuana pages called “Renewal Information” that everyone uses. It links you to this page http://azdhs.gov/medicalmarijuana/renewals/
which has the application link in the body of the page. -
lower the cost of the sign up and prescriptions and should be picked up by insurance plans.
In Washington, Colorado and California the costs are much less for the intake and use of medical marijuana compared to Arizona.
It is a proven fact that the use of marijuana has less side effects than some of the medication that are prescribed for pain, nausea, nerve problems and even some of the phych. medications.
Medicalll marijuana is not for everyone, though those that it does work for to ease the medical issues should not have such a higher price to pay.1 voteWe appreciate your feedback. When the voter initiative was passed to begin the Medical Marijuana program in Arizona, there was no money provided. Prices were set to prevent all taxpayers from paying the cost for those who use the program. The department does not have any jurisdiction concerning the cost at dispensaries or whether insurance pays for marijuana.

STATE MONEY
IN THE BEGINNING OF THE MMJ PROGRAM THERE WAS A BLURB ABOUT A STATE ALLOTMENT FOR PATIENTS WHO CANT PAY THE FEES, WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT? IS IT STILL THERE AND HOW DO THE PATIENTS APPLY?
1 voteThere was never any state money tied to the medical marijuana program. All the money has been generated from card holders and dispensary applications. The provision you may have been remembering was the discounted card fee for people who received SNAP benefits.
-
LOST CARDS
WHY IS IT WHEN PATIENTS LOOSE CARDS THEY NEED THAT LONG # TO REPLACE IT???? IF ITS A LOST CARD ITS NOT AROUND, SO MANY OF THE PATIENTS CANT REMEMBER ANYTHING AT ALL ON A DAILY BASIS, HOW ARE THEY SUPPOSED TO REMEMBER THAT LOOOONG # !?
1 voteAll of the application process is online – a cardholder may have information in his or her email that will help identify the card number. They can also write to m2programsupport@azdhs.gov for help.
